Jenni has an extensive background in project management, communications, and media. She has been working with the Tasmanian Coordinating Committee to deliver National Science Week since 2012 as the Communications and Events Manager for the state. The University is a major supporter of National Science Week, an event primarily funded through the Australian Government in addition to many local partnerships. Working from the College of Sciences and Engineering Outreach and Engagement team, Jenni assists with a range of STEM events and activities that promote the University across Tasmania and interstate. She also works on the Inspiring Australia initiative with Sarah Bayne and regularly updates InspiringTas.org.au, a listing of Tasmanian science events and resources including grants related to science communication.
Jenni has also been involved with Edge Radio 99.3FM since 2003 when she studied business at UTAS, and has acted as the President of its governing committee, Tasmanian Youth Broadcasters Inc., since 2017. Edge Radio is an independent radio station located at the University of Tasmania's Sandy Bay campus and it has been providing low-cost, high quality, practical broadcasting training to students since day one.
Jenni is also a keen photographer and can be seen carting her Nikon to campus events from time to time.
