Jane Longhurst is an award-winning actor, broadcaster, voice artist, and popular presenter of events big and small. She has worked extensively in theatre, television, and radio since graduating from the Victorian College of the Arts. Her television credits include Rosehaven, Death or Liberty, Blue Heelers, Janus, and an AFI Award-winning episode of GP. Jane performed for Melbourne Theatre Company, with various independent theatre companies within Melbourne and in A Midsummer Night’s Dream in the Royal Botanical Gardens of Melbourne, Adelaide and Sydney.
Now based back in her hometown of Hobart, Jane’s recent theatre credits include Happy Days by Samuel Beckett, supported by City of Hobart, Arts Tasmania, Blue Cow Theatre, and featured in Mona Foma 2021, Ghosts of the Olympic Theatre, (Junction Arts Festival 2019), the critically acclaimed The Mares for Tasmanian Theatre Company as part of the 2019 Ten Days on the Island festival, Hamlet, performed in the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery for Blue Cow Theatre and as the Narrator for Terrapin Puppet Theatre’s intra-Tasmanian school tour and Ten Days on the Island performance season of You and Me and The Space Between written by Finegan Kruckemeyer.
Jane is a regular presenter with the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra for both major concerts and touring throughout Tasmanian schools. In 2020 she presented the Sunday Morning program on ABC Local Radio broadcast across Tasmania and is a regular fill-in presenter across Local Radio programs and Local Grandstand.
