Connecting to Catchment: Establishing and trialing water resource stewardship at sub catchment scales (2016 - 2017)$151,380
Description
We will establish and test a stewardship program for rural communities focused on water use and environmental health. Two Tasmanian rural communities will be upskilled and empowered to fill the 'management gap' between on-farm planning and catchment management, by building key data resources and engaging with business and government in shared water resource and environmental decision making.

Supply of research into the alignment of alpine bog type and location across the Australian Alps (2013 - 2014)$18,000
Description
Much research has investigated mapping, classifying and assessing the state of endangered alpine peatlands (aka bogs) amongst the Australian Alps agencies and researchers in the past. Projects have been driven by myriad questions and specific threats and have resulted in numerous data sets that have varying data scales and objectives. Whilst these data have been of utility in answering agency and region-specific management questions, it is currently not possible to amalgamate these data together to assess alps-wide issues affecting bogs, comparing bog resilience, or prioritising and coordinating responses to threats. This project aims to describe how each of the Australian Alps states (ACT, NSW and Victoria) classifies bogs according to type and ecological status and identify consistencies among existing monitoring protocols. The project will focus on variables that influence vulnerability of bogs to the impacts of climate change.
