René has an extensive career history for both public and private organisations, holding senior management positions in Procurement and Logistics, in addition to running his own consulting and training business for over 16 years. René has been lecturing on a sessional basis at UTAS for TSBE since 2015 (receiving Teaching Merit Certificates in 2016 and 2017), and for the University College since 2017. Prior to that, René lectured for CQU in Brisbane for 8 years on a sessional basis. René has spoken at many conferences throughout Australia and overseas, is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply and an Associate Fellow of AIM.

General Responsibilities

René’s teaching role encompasses subject development, teaching and coordination for the University College in a range of subjects, including Principles of Quality Management, Managing Business Projects, Entrepreneurship and Innovation in a Digital Age and Data for Decision Making. From 2018, René will also be the Program Leader and Lecturer in the Associate Degree in Applied Business – Supply Chain Management Specialisation, comprising 8 Core subjects and 8 Specialisation subjects.
