Research integrity is a fundamental aspect of research excellence and integral to all aspects of academic professional practice. At the University of Tasmania, research integrity is defined as research that is designed, conducted and reported in accordance with the Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research, 2018 (The Code). The Code is a statement of principles aimed to guide institutions and researchers in responsible research practices and the promotion of research integrity. All persons (research students, research trainees, Higher Degree Research (HDR) candidates, research fellows, research assistant/associate, academic staff , professional staff, support staff, and technical staff) engaged in the conduct of research at the University are required to adhere to the Code and the University of Tasmania’s Responsible Conduct of Research Framework.

Making a complaint
The University of Tasmania takes allegations of potential breaches of the Code and/or conduct that deviate from the principles of research integrity very seriously. The Research Integrity Complaints Procedure (PDF 552.1 KB) outlines the management of research integrity complaints and potential breaches of the Code and research policies and procedures.
