Dr Leonard Crocombe
Dr Crocombe has a background in dentistry, having worked in both private practice and in the public sector where he was the Tasmanian State Dental Coordinator. He holds senior positions with the Australian Dental Association. He has recently come into research having obtained his PhD 2009 at the Australian Research Centre for Population Oral health at the University of Adelaide.
Dr Tony Barnett
Director of the CRH in July 2010. He trained as a nurse at Whyalla (South Australia) and has since worked in a number of hospitals including the Royal Adelaide, the Royal Melbourne and St Vincents. In 1985, he was appointed the foundation Dean of Nursing and Health Sciences at the WIAE/Deakin University (Warrnambool) and in 1992, joined Monash where he was the Head of Nursing and Midwifery for over a decade.
Tony has attracted project and research grants from DoHA, AusAID; the Rural Health Support Education and Training (RHSET) program, the Commonwealth Department of Education, Science and Training (DEST), the Nurses Board of Victoria and the Victorian Government Department of Health (DHS). He has taught subjects on: research methods, evidence-based practice, collaborative health care, rural health, professional issues, and health professional transitions. Tony has supervised to completion, over 20 graduate student research projects in Australia, Malaysia and Hong Kong. He has published in a number of major journals and maintains strong links with health care professionals SE Asia.
Dr Ha Hoang
Dr Ha Hoang joined the Centre for Rural Health (CRH) as a postdoctoral fellow of the Centre of Research Excellence in Primary Oral Care in early 2013. Prior to the current position she did both her Masters and PhD degrees with the CRH. Her first obtained grant was the Strategic Activities Seed Funding by Faculty of Health, University of Tasmania in 2011.
Dr Jacqueline Stuart
Private dentist with 26 years clinical experience. Currently appointed as Adjunct Lecturer at UTAS CRH Launceston in a voluntary position.
Diana did her undergraduate degrees with the University of Tasmania and has an extensive background in clinical dentistry. She joined the Centre for Rural Health in 2012 as a research associate with the Centre of Research Excellence in Primary Oral Health Care. In 2013 she became a graduate research student, working towards a PhD with her research project investigating the rural work movements of Australian dental practitioners.
