Researchers with industry experience
Sense-T is an innovative team of full-time Research Engineers, part-time Research Fellows, engineering interns and ICT student placements focused on the application of sensors, telemetry and data technologies to create cost effective and manageable solutions for business and government.
Sense-T has recruited engineers with substantial industry experience in the Industrial Internet of Things and Industry 4.0 solutions, some of whom have had their own businesses and involvement in commercialisation activities. Four of Sense-T’s Research Engineers have completed seasons at the Antarctic involved in sensor development and data analysis and are very experienced at overcoming obstacles in demanding situations.
Sense-T is very proud to be developing the careers of engineering graduates by recruiting two exceptional University of Tasmania Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) graduates in 2019 who are now highly experienced due to undertaking many software, sensor and telemetry deployments on locations throughout Tasmania, the Northern Territory and Queensland.
The Sense-T Team is expanding its capabilities and capacities through a collaboration with the University of Tasmania’s School of ICT resulting in academic staff working within Sense-T on industry projects and for a portion of their research workload.
Sense-T is increasing its role in developing the careers of engineering and ICT professionals by offering 12-week internships for Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) students and semester long student placement for Bachelor of Information and Communication Technology students.
Nine engineering interns have worked alongside Sense-T’s Research Engineers gaining valuable experience on IoT and Industry 4.0 activities including involvement on sensor and telemetry deployments. In March 2022, Sense-T welcomed its first ICT student placement.
