Research in market design helps develop effective economic institution. Important applications include auctions for broadcast spectrum, pollution control, electricity markets, and allocation mechanisms for donated organs. Professor Goeree will provide an introduction and an overview of exciting recent developments in this field.

Jacob Goeree is Distinguished Research Professor and Head of the Economics Discipline Group at the University of Technology Sydney. He has made important contributions to the mathematical modeling and testing of theories of bounded rationality, experimental economic, and mechanism design.
