Michael Boult won the 2022 Unisport Nationals Triathlon Gold medal at the Mooloolaba Triathlon in March.
Michael started his sporting career as a swimmer for his local swim club, Hutchins Collegiate, before adding to his sporting repertoire and taking on triathlons.
In 2018 he was recognised with the inaugural Bill and She Henderson Trophy for Young Leadership, for showing outstanding leadership within the swim club.
In October 2021, an interrupted lead up to the Noosa triathlon including injury and snap lockdowns, resulted in a 02:04:22 finish and 43rd placing.
In March 2022 Michael was back from injury and well prepared for the Mooloolaba Triathlon, after moving to Queensland and joining a new training group - Warwick Dalziel Triathlon Coaching which showed through his performance.
Finishing 3rd overall, but 1st Student Athlete Michael Boult was named winner of the UniSport Australia Triathlon Nations in the Mooloolaba Triathlon. This win qualifies Michael for a professional license with Triathlon Australia, enabling him to now complete overseas.
Michael graduated his Bachelor of Engineering (honours) in 2021 and returned to study a Bachelor of Philosophy in 2022. He has been a member of the University of Tasmania Elite Athlete program throughout his studies and was awarded the University Sports Scholarship in his first year of study.
