Tasmania’s first-ever football World Cup tournament started Wednesday afternoon in Hobart - With a chance to be part of something special and novel.

Tasmania’s first-ever football World Cup tournament started Wednesday afternoon in Hobart – thanks to the University of Tasmania Soccer Club! It’s a unique a celebration of football, fun and friendship. A chance to be part of something special and novel.

There are 10 ‘national sides’ represented at the inaugural tournament:

* Australia

* African side (specific nation TBA)

* China

* Colombia

* England

* Greece

* Holland

* Italy

* Scotland

* Syria

This tournament’s for all social-level footballers, of varying experience levels, to be part of something special and novel.

Group games will be held at Olinda Grove on Mt Nelson (home of University FC), with the semi-finals and World Cup final held at the home of Tasmanian football, KGV Football Park.
