2021 scholarships are now open for application. The closing date for applications is 31 October 2020.
Originally known as the ‘Tasmania University Sports Scholarship’, the University of Tasmania introduced these scholarships in 1992 to help outstanding University of Tasmania student athletes achieve their sporting and academic goals. To ensure the long-term existence of this Scholarships Program, the University of Tasmania Sports Scholarship Trust was established in 2002 with generous contributions from the Tasmania University Union (TUU).
Eligibility
Available to both commencing and current students who excel in sport and are undertaking any undergraduate or postgraduate degree course in Semester 1, 2021.
Students who receive a Sports Scholarship are expected to make a contribution to University sports clubs.
Five awards are available; up to four for Tasmanian students or students from Interstate, and one for a student who identifies as an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.
Amount
$5,000 cash incentive plus a 12 month UniGym student membership (or equivalent professional development opportunity depending upon the sport).
