Business Intelligence

Business Intelligence means exploiting all data assets – internal and external – for operational excellence and decision support. The ultimate purpose is to contribute to the University's competitive advantage.

Objectives:

The objectives of implementing a Business Intelligence solution across the institution are to:

  • Provide timely and consistent reports to support decision making
  • Support performance reporting at multiple levels within the University
  • Provide governance around the data to allow scalable, repeatable and quality information, eliminating duplication and increasing effectiveness and efficiency
  • Provide standardised, sustainable and scalable enterprise solution for the University

Responsibilities:

The BI unit has responsibility for developing and supporting the University's Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) which brings together many data sources in a single, consolidated and fully-conformed online reporting environment.
