Welcome and Orientation Week for Semester 1, 2021 runs from Monday 15 - Sunday 21 February.
We will host a variety of events, activities and information sessions to help you on your way to a successful future.
It is strongly recommended that all commencing students attend the Welcome and Orientation sessions. Attending your College Orientation is a vital part of introduction to uni. We also recommend you explore the workshops, info sessions and events available across this program.

UniStart | Released 5 Jan MyLO | A self-paced introduction to University supported by live sessions. The unit guides you through the key tasks of enrolling, understanding UTAS systems, planning your semester and making connections with students and staff. UniStart offers a deeper dive into the academic environment. Self-paced and supported, the unit introduces key university concepts and develops skills such as critical thinking and academic reading and writing. This unit will also introduce you to ongoing student support and resources. |

University Campus Welcome | Wednesday 17 Feb 9.30 - 10.30am Lawn Cradle Coast Campus | pulingina tu University of lutruwita (Welcome to the University of Tasmania). A local member of the Tasmanian Aboriginal community will welcome you to Burnie in palawa kani (Tasmanian Aboriginal language) while sharing with you the ancient Aboriginal history of lutruwita/Tasmania, the place that many of you now call home. We will welcome and introduce you to the top things you should do this week and provide you with a facilitated morning tea. |

Day of Service | Saturday 20 Feb Meet 9.30am Mooreville Road Campus and 9.40am at West Park Apartments | Join our community of volunteers and help out at the inaugural University of Tasmania Day of Service. Contribute to our local Cradle Coast community and meet some new people whist volunteering in the beautiful Emu Valley Rhododendron Garden. |
