This is your very first step as you embark on your new study journey with the University of Tasmania.

Orientation and Welcome runs from February 17, 2020- February 28, 2020 and UTAS will host a variety of events, activities and information sessions to get students well on your way to a successful future.

It is a requirement for newly commencing students to attend their Welcome and Orientation sessions.

pulingina tu University of lutruwita (Welcome to the University of Tasmania).
A local member of the Tasmanian Aboriginal community will welcome you to Burnie in palawa kani (Tasmanian Aboriginal language) while sharing with you the ancient Aboriginal history of lutruwita/Tasmania, the place that many of you now call home. Plus an introduction and overview of the top 5 things you should do this week.
A orientation expo will follow with live entertainment, fresh local food and market stalls.
