Nursing is the launch pad to your career in health, as well as being one of the most trusted professions in the world. It will take you to places that you never thought possible.

Our course embraces a primary health care framework, with a student-centred approach that delivers a variety of high impact engaging learning experiences, diversity of authentic assessments, and contemporary digital learning technologies.

We offer a vibrant learning culture with a blended model of online learning, supported by on-campus periods of practical study. You’ll also undertake a minimum of 800 hours of Professional Experience Placements aligned with your interests, and across a variety of five clinical and healthcare environments.

This blended model of learning will develop the knowledge and skills you need to offer the highest quality health care, helping you graduate as a solution focused, compassionate, agile, and resilient, ready to pursue a career as a registered nurse.

Graduate in just two years

After your first year, you may have the option based on your GPA, and placement availability, to undertake an accelerated second year to complete the entire degree in just two years. By utilising spring, summer, and winter study periods you complete the same number of units in a shorter time, graduating sooner and allowing you to start your career faster.

If you need to study away from home, our Relocation and Travel Support Allowance helps cover accommodation and associated costs within Tasmania.

Our Bachelor of Nursing has a limited intake each year to ensure placements for all students. Domestic applications for 2025 will open 30 June 2024.

Nurses are at the forefront of healthcare delivery, and demand for registered nurses is only increasing with 85,000 more nurses forecast to be required to meet future healthcare needs by 2025.

You can be an integral part maintaining healthy community, working in sectors such as health promotion, mental health, or aged care, by having a person-centred focus, while providing advice, treatment, and management.
