About the Applied Employment Skills Package
The Applied Employment Skills Package is designed to prepare you for success at university and in your future career and is available to all continuing and commencing students enrolled in an eligible course offered by the Tasmanian School of Business and Economics.*
The Applied Employment Skills Package is designed to develop your professional networks, confidence, and the skills necessary to succeed in the job market. The package includes regular workshops, discussion groups and presentations as well as sessions devoted to writing CV’s, applications for employment and developing interview skills. Additionally, you will choose from a range of activities to acquire sufficient ‘points’ to earn a Certificate of Completion and a badge which can be shared on social media and displayed on your CV.

The package includes regular sessions delivered by as well as sessions devoted to writing CV’s, applications for employment and developing interview skills. You can choose from a range of activities to acquire sufficient ‘points’ to earn a Certificate of Completion and a badge which can be shared on social media and displayed on your CV.
The Applied Employment Skills Package is not a credit awarded unit. Students that successfully complete the requirements will be given a Certificate of Completion.
Eligible students can opt in to the program by completing the Expression of Interest form.
The Applied Employment Skills Package is designed to prepare you for future employment oppotunities. This program is not financially compensated.
The Applied Employment Skills Package will develop your employability skills and work readiness, and provide you with an extra advantage to be competitive in the job market. It also offers significant networking opportunities and a range of other benefits.
Yes, both international and domestic students are eligible for the Applied Employment Skills Package.
Offshore students who are categorised as studying “on campus” are eligible to participate in the program (i.e. students who are not able to study on-campus until borders reopen).
The Applied Employment Skills Package is a parallel employability program which involves active participation in a number of sessions designed to equip students for readiness for employment.
To ensure the best outcomes for students, package participants will be expected to actively participate in at least 80% of program workshops plus undertake approved activities to earn points and submit reflection and evidence requirements.
