Event: Agfest

Summary

Agfest, originated and still operated by Rural Youth Organisation of Tasmania

Details

Agfest began in 1983 with ten exhibitors displaying agricultural products at the motor racing track at Symmons Plains. Over the years it has grown to include over 700 exhibitors of a huge variety of products and activities, which attract 76,000 patrons to its attractive, spacious site, Quercus Rural Youth Park near Carrick. Many exhibitors come from interstate.

Larger than any market in Tasmania, attracting the second highest attendance of any Australian agricultural field day, Agfest is called 'Tasmania's Premier Event'. Patrons spend over $25 million. They can view all types of products including machinery, crafts and gardening devices, watch sheep dog trials, agricultural demonstrations, fashion parades and heritage displays, and inspect many Tasmanian products from fine wool to fine food and wine.
