Agricultural Systems

We aim to improve the profitability and sustainability of livestock and cropping systems, with benefits for industry locally, nationally and globally.

Our Agricultural Systems Centre aspires to research, development, extension, adoption, and commercialisation capability with focus areas fundamental to solving Tasmania’s agricultural and food challenges.

Systems approaches and tools enable us to analyse challenges and find opportunities to improve systems ranging from soil management and irrigation scheduling to looking after catchments and developing policies and strategies to support sustainable and vibrant agriculture.

The Tas Farm Innovation Hub, which sits within the Agricultural Systems Centre shares these challenges. The Hub is designed to help Tasmanian farmers, and those who support them, to build relationships, access information and participate in activities to increase innovation in their businesses, care for land and waterways, and enhance community wellbeing.
