Project name | Reproductive biology, seed development and pyrethrin accumulation in pyrethrum |
Funding bodies | Botanical Resources Australia |
Lead researcher | Assoc/Prof Alistair Gracie |

This project is investigating the fundamental aspects of the relationship between reproductive biology, seed development and pyrethrin accumulation.
The work will define the pollination systems that operate in commercial varieties by understanding the reliance on self fertilisation and outcrossing, and pollen vectoring mechanisms and requirement or otherwise for pollinators.
It will determine environmental and varietal influences on the reproductive biology of pyrethrum and understand the relationship between the reproductive biology of pyrethrum and pyrethrins accumulation.
