Students studying agriculture at the University of Tasmania have access to a research farm located at Cambridge, a short 20 minute drive from the Sandy Bay Campus.

Since its establishment as a research farm in 1979, this 320ha property has been the scene of much learning and teaching of agricultural science and exciting research outcomes that have played a crucial role in the growth of major industries in Tasmania.

  • Research activities have supported development of industries including poppy, pyrethrum, essential oils, apricots, cherry and viticulture.
  • Hands-on learning experiences for students studying agriculture - including animal, agronomy and soil sciences.
  • Support for honours and PhD projects.
