TILES congratulates new graduates from the Tasmania Police Academy

award presentationOn 12 March, Professor Nicholas Farrelly (pictured), Head of School of Social Sciences, College of Arts, Law and Education (CALE) presented merit certificates to police recruit course students at the awards ceremony held at the Tasmania Police Academy.

The following day a formal graduation took place at the Academy where 22 new constables were congratulated by Tasmania Police Commissioner, senior officers, UTAS academics, friends and families.

The latest recruit course prepared 11 men and 11 women for entering their careers in Tasmania Police and putting their rigorous training into action.

TILES has a long-standing and successful relationship with the Department of Police, Fire and Emergency Management (DPFEM), and is engaged with the School of Social Sciences in a successful collaboration between the University and the DPFEM in teaching, especially in the development of the Bachelor of Social Science (Police Studies) degree and programs.
