Frequently asked questions
- To be eligible for an international student short stay of up to 8 weeks, you must:
- be an international student;
- have a confirmed booking in UTAS accommodation; and
- have arrived in the accommodation by Monday 14 February 2022
- No other accommodation discounts, scholarships or bursaries apply to International Short Stay leases
We'll offer you a place in one of our available single rooms, most likely with a shared kitchen and living facilities.
All of our Hobart accommodation facilities are linked by the UniHopper, a free shuttle bus service to and from our campuses.

Our accommodation is also located near public transport, find out more about public transport at Metro Tasmania.
There is no bond or holding fee required for an international student short stay. If you decide to extend your stay to a full year lease, there is a $500 bond and $150 holding fee.
We want to give you as much flexibility as possible. If you decide to leave before your end date, you'll need to give us 2 weeks notice. If you decide that you'd like to stay longer than 8 weeks, let us know and we can offer you our normal lease full year lease relevant to your accommodation location.
