In July a partnership was formed with the Pharmacy Guild of Australia to trial a delivery of the Understanding Dementia MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) via its online learning platform ‘GuildEd’.
Responding to the demand from Industry peak bodies such as the Guild, and their desire to make the Free Understanding Dementia MOOC available via their existing professional development platforms, the Wicking Dementia Centre successfully delivered the July UD MOOC on the GuildEd platform by synching the two learning management systems. This has provided members of GuildEd to sign up to the course without leaving the GuildEd platform and allows the education to be recorded on their profile.
Taking this further, Wicking Dementia Centre is currently working with additional industry groups and organisations to offer a ‘self-paced’ version of the Understanding Dementia MOOC which will be accessed at any time to be studied in your own time.
