Testimonials

The Understanding Dementia Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) was the reason why I decided to undertake the Diploma of Dementia Care. I regard myself as an advocate for dementia care. The lecturers at the Wicking Centre are brilliant – each and every one of them!

- Adrian, Graduate Diploma of Dementia Care

In 2013, my passion for dementia care was ignited when I completed the Understanding Dementia MOOC. This initial spark led me to dive deeper into the field, enrolling in the Diploma of Dementia Care. My curiosity and love for learning about dementia only grew stronger, propelling me to pursue further studies.

After successfully completing the diploma, I advanced to the Associate Degree, then the Bachelor of Dementia, and in 2024, I proudly graduated with a Master of Dementia. Each step of my educational journey has been incredibly rewarding and has profoundly enriched my understanding.

Now, as a professional working with Dementia Services, I apply the knowledge from every unit I studied to support and care for people living with dementia. It’s a fulfilling and meaningful career that I am deeply passionate about.

- Diane - Master of Dementia

This course is incredibly valuable for anyone working in aged care. It provides comprehensive knowledge that enhances our ability to deliver high-quality, person-centred care to individuals living with dementia. Importantly, it also acknowledges the crucial role of families in the care journey. Much of what is learned in the course can be directly applied in the workplace, making it a practical and impactful qualification.
