As Tasmania's only dedicated medical research institute, Menzies Institute for Medical Research is proud to be participating in the first ever national Medical Research Giving Day on Wednesday 9 September 2026.
As a member of the Australian Association of Medical Research Institutes (AAMRI), Menzies will join more than 30 leading medical research institutes across Australia in a national day of giving that celebrates the power of research to improve health, save lives and create a healthier future for all Australians.
For nearly 40 years, Menzies researchers have been tackling some of our greatest health challenges, including dementia, multiple sclerosis, cardiovascular disease, cancer, diabetes, ageing and population health. Our researchers are making discoveries that improve health outcomes for Tasmanians while contributing to medical advances that benefit people across Australia and around the world.
