Summary:

Celebrate the first ever national Medical Research Giving Day with a behind-the-scenes look at the Menzies Institute.

Join us for a special Community Day at the Menzies Institute for Medical Research as part of Australia's inaugural National Medical Research Giving Day.

National Medical Research Giving Day is a nationwide initiative bringing together more than 30 of Australia's leading medical research institutes to raise awareness of the life-changing impact of medical research and the importance of community support. Every donation helps drive discoveries that improve diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disease.

This free community event offers a unique opportunity to step inside Tasmania's only medical research institute and discover how local research is improving health outcomes for Tasmanians and people around the world.

Throughout the day, visitors can enjoy a range of interactive activities, displays and demonstrations showcasing research in areas including cardiovascular disease, cancer, multiple sclerosis, dementia, Parkinson's disease prevention, genetics and more.

Guests will also have the opportunity to meet researchers and PhD students, learn about current projects and gain insight into the discoveries being made right here in Tasmania.

A highlight of the day will be a series of exclusive laboratory and clinic tours, providing rare behind-the-scenes access to the facilities where groundbreaking medical research takes place. Tour places are limited and must be pre-booked. Follow the Book Now link to secure your spot.

Whether you're curious about research, considering a career in science, or simply want to learn more about the work happening in your community, we invite you to come along and be part of this exciting day.

*Entry is free, but registrations are encouraged. Laboratory and clinic tours must be booked in advance.
