The Electronics Workshop supports a vast array of research instrumentation within the CSL and for many other Schools of the University of Tasmania. It also offers a repair and maintenance service for most electronic and electromechanical research equipment and provides consultation in design and construction of electronic instruments. Senior Technical Officer, Phil Hortin has extensive expertise in troubleshooting complex problems as well as designing new equipment to meet specialised requirements. The workshop has a CAD based printed circuit board fabrication facility and also a small CNC machine for prototyping work and small production runs.
