PhD student Stephanie Sykora's short video documenting the CODES SEG Student Chapter's field trip to Iceland and Sweden, organised in conjunction with Lakehead University, Canada. During the trip, the students learned about mineralisation and alteration processes related to hydrothermal systems in ancient and modern volcanic terranes; compared the characteristics of modern volcanoes with ancient volcanic environments; and studied important features relating to a variety of deposit styles, including VHMS, porphyry-Cu and Kiruna-type magnetite-apatite deposits.

Field trip guides included David Cooke, Jocelyn McPhie and Peter Hollings (Lakehead University), as well as local experts including Rodney Allen, Nils Jansson and Haraldur Sigurðsson.
