This exhibition has been curated by Cas Charles to coincide with the Indonesia Council Open Conference 2013, being convened by the University of Tasmania and presented at the Tasmanian College of the Arts, Hunter Street Hobart. 

Kainan – indigo, soga and morinda: Indonesian textiles from Tasmanian collections includes a selection of 45 items drawn from five Tasmanian collections. The work includes fine examples of ikat weaving, batik and songket – ceremonial textiles and tailored garments. The traditional natural dye colours indigo, soga and morinda feature in the works selected for exhibition.
