JoinBetween Waves artist Cassie Sullivan, and printer and Director of Moving Creatures Studio John Robinson, to explore the themes of the Between Waves exhibition - what's above, below and in between - through two engaging printmaking workshops.


Monoprint workshop for kids aged 8 - 14

Participants will be monoprinting objects from everyday life to experiment with what can be shown through materials. Objects will be layered and printed using gelliplates and attendees will be able to take their artworks home on the day.  We encourage participants to bring something meaningful from home to either print with or draw from and there will be plenty of items to use at the workshop.

Drypoint workshop for adults


Participants will be using drypoint techniques to print objects from everyday life to experiment with what can be shown through materiality. All inks and paper will be provided, and no previous experience is necessary. We encourage participants to bring something meaningful from home to either print with or draw from and there will be plenty of items to use at the workshop.

About the presenters: 

Cassie Sullivan

Cassie Sullivan is a lutruwita/trouwerner First Nations artist based on Melukerdee Country in lutruwita/Tasmania. She has a responsive, intimate, and experimental practice that crosses disciplines of moving image, photography, writing, sound, installation, and printmaking. Sullivan works with a deeply considered process driven practice that prioritises a multisensory engagement with Country.

John Robinson

Printer, director of Moving Creatures Studio. John has been associated with the printing industry for 40 years, starting as an apprentice compositor with Treble Printing Co in Victoria, he has been part of the digital revolution in printing. John studied printmaking with both TAFE and University in Tasmania and has since worked as a tutor at TAFE and Technical Officer with UTAS. John has been collecting printing equipment for the past 20 years and established Moving Creature Studio in 2013.
