Drawing for Speculation:
Addressing the Archive Using Contemporary Drawing
This project uses contemporary drawing to research The Sarah Mitchell Scrapbook, a rare nineteenth-century collection of drawings and annotations from Lutruwita/Tasmania. Through studio-based research, it reactivates fragmented historical traces to explore memory, place, empathy and speculative encounters with the past.
