Regional Queensland, 1980, where the politics is corrupt and the religion is intense. Len Jackson, 'a religious maniac banana picker' and his mother Kath live in a shack in Kingaroy, struggling to make ends meet. Len has been caught in the grip of catholic religiosity since his teens. One night he brings home 'a woman of the opposite sex' and must make a choice.
Beloved Melbourne playwright, journalist and cartoonist Barry Dickins takes us on a comic journey into faith, lust and broken dreams in this one act play filled with rough and ready poetry.
