The Tamar Valley Writers Festival returns this October, celebrating storytelling, ideas and the rich creative spirit of Tasmania. Since 2014, the festival has welcomed acclaimed and emerging writers, poets, journalists, podcasters and thinkers, with a strong commitment to First Nations and diverse voices.

Set in the Tamar Valley, the program spans fiction, politics, poetry, comedy, screenwriting and more. With a thriving schools program and year‑round author events, the festival brings readers and writers together for the love of words.
