Awards Presented at the ACROSS Annual Lunch

The achievements of the past year were recently celebrated at the inaugural ACROSS Annual Lunch.

Held at The Beach House in Sandy Bay, the Lunch provided an opportunity to socialise with colleagues over fine food, while celebrating the achievements of ACROSS.

During the course of the event, the following people received awards for their accomplishments:

  • Jim Luong, who received an Outstanding Scientific Productivity Award for the publication of six scholarly journal articles in 2012.
  • Naama Karu, who received an Outstanding Scientific Productivity Award for the publication of four scholarly journal articles in 2012.
  • Esme Candish, who received the Most Travelled Postgraduate Award for travelling the furthest distance to attend conferences in the last two years.
  • Mohammad Talebi, who received the Most Helpful Postgraduate Award as voted by the members of ACROSS.
  • Daniel Gstoettenmayr, who received the Safest Postgraduate in the Laboratory Award as voted by the members of ACROSS.

Congratulations to all the winners, and thanks to all those who attended the lunch to make it such a success. We look forward to the 2nd ACROSS Annual Lunch in 2014.
