Introduction

In this unit you will be introduced to Music and the Visual Arts as key areas of the Early Years Learning Framework and the Australian Curriculum: The Arts. You will become familiar with the research that supports the practice of the Arts in education, with the elements, principles and processes of Music and Visual Arts, and you will apply these to Early Childhood and Primary contexts and curriculum. You will connect Music and Visual Arts learning with cross curricular learning opportunities and plan, teach and reflect upon a short, cross curricular teaching episode.

On-Campus students: Music and Visual Art: Lecture Week 1

Visual Art: 1 x 2hr Workshop per week (Weeks 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11, 12)

Music: 1 x 2hr Workshop per week (Weeks 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11, 12)

Online students: Weekly online engagement, readings and learning activities
