Introduction

In this unit, you will explore the processes and possibilities of practitioner action research, and generate a plan for investigation into an aspect of relevance in your own educational context. The unit aims to provide you with the opportunity to recognise the role that reflection plays in forming a link between the conceptual and theoretical bases of teaching and learning. The teaching and assessment in this unit will provide you with a rationale for conducting inquiry and familiarise you with the practicalities of planning a research project within a given context.
