Introduction
This unit builds on the skills and understanding gained in Music Materials 1 and Contemporary Techniques A. It is the third in a sequence of units that develop essential musicianship skills through the study of jazz and contemporary music theory, notation, aural skills and harmony. Students will engage in a variety of activities to connect the theoretical with the practical aspects of music making: in music literacy, harmony analysis, rhythm, and improvisational/compositional techniques integral to jazz and contemporary music practice.
