Introduction
Drawing from the Environment: REVISIONING YOUR LANDSCAPE Purpose:
- to introduce practical skills - building on students' already established photographic, drawing and/or painting technique
- to provide new ways of engaging with art and landscape through students' media of choice
- to activate and inspire students' relationship to their environment.
Background:
Experiences and representations of diverse landscapes and environments in Tasmania are important aspects of developing regional identities and contemporary cultural practices. Local community groups, amateur and professional artists demonstrate strong interest in making and engaging with artworks inspired from the environments in which they live. Drawing from the Environment: REVISIONING YOUR LANDSCAPE will activate and extend conceptual, practical and professional potential by offering a range of relevant visual art approaches.
