Introduction
What foundational skills does a performer need? Leading theatre performers make the craft seem effortless. This unit is a practical exploration of foundational performance skills, including movement, voice and space, and how these performance skills are applied in diverse performance contexts, such as within traditional theatre spaces, in site specific work, and in performance that engages with new technologies and networked media. You will explore foundational voice and movement skills, and investigate how the performer integrates their work with the elements of theatre. You will also identify how the craft of acting has transformed in response to changes in the form and function of theatre.
