Object and Furniture 2B FSF217
Hobart, Launceston
Introduction
The surface and combining digital fabrication.
This unit explores the notion of surface. Intersecting individual studio practice with digital fabrication, students respond to critical design brief/s focused on a world in rapid transformation. Students will be equipped with experimental approaches to making augmented by digital fabrication methods. Collaborative and individual design tasks combined with critical observational and presenting activities, further prepare students to engage in speculative design discourse and the imagining of alternative futures.
Lectures, demonstrations, studios, workshops, tutorials, discussion or presentations that span historical, traditional, theoretical, technological and current approaches to making processes will be explored. Instruction and compliance to workplace health and safety (WHS) is fundamental to this unit.
