Introduction

Builds on preliminary examination of the law of private obligations introduced in LAW252 Foundations of Private Law by targeting the law of torts. The unit provides students with a comprehensive survey of the principal causes of action in the law of torts, as well as assessing the impact of tort law reforms through the Civil Liability Act 2002 (Tas). Torts covered include intentional torts to the person, nuisance, defamation and negligence. Practical skills include legal problem solving, legal reasoning and oral presentation.
