Units are offered in attending mode unless otherwise indicated (that is attendance is required at the campus identified). Learning Outcomes

  1. Describe and distinguish: the forms that family violence may take based on statutory law definitions across Australia; and contemporary policy, legislative and system wide responses to family violence in Australia
  2. Critically discuss myths and stereotypes about the nature of family violence, victims and offenders.
  3. Evaluate the efficacy of legal, policy and practical responses to family violence in Australia.
  4. Communicate clearly and concisely an understanding of the issues relating to legal and policy responses to family violence.

Weekly online class (1 hour)

Assessment

Task 1: Quizzes (10%)

Task 2: Submission to public, 2000 words (40%)

Task 3: Discussion board contributions, each post 500 words maximum (30%)

Task 4: Briefing Paper, 1250 words (20%)
