This unit enables a focus on a range of advanced topics related to national and international best practice in dementia care. The unit is available to students from other courses, subject to meeting any pre-requisites.

Learning Outcomes
- Explore and analyse reasons for the prevalence of specific types of dementia in seldom-heard groups.
- Identify issues relevant to people from seldom-heard groups who are living with dementia, and their carers
- Examine and reflect on the challenges experienced, and how this can translate into effective care for people with dementia from seldom-heard groups
- Evaluate and apply evidence-based contemporary knowledge to support the needs to people with dementia from seldom-heard groups, and their carers.
