Introduction
This unit has a focus on policy and governance issues that influence the provision of quality care for older adults. This will include an examination and critique of the mains laws and regulations that relate to the care of older adults, such as aged care national law and funding instruments, governance of organisations providing care, guardianship, clinical governance and ageing-inclusive policies. The unit will describe and critique approaches to safety and quality in aged care, and will examine the development of the aged care reform movement and changing consumer expectations.
