Teaching
| Teaching Pattern | The unit is organised around weekly cases. The teaching content is delivered in the form of lectures/presentations, facilitated small group learning sessions, practicals, workshops, tutorials and on-line self-directed learning. Students must be available full time Monday - Friday with some compulsory out of hours activities scheduled throughout the semester. |

| Assessment | Assessment includes Examinations, Assignments and Other Unit Requirements. Examinations: A mid-semester written examination and two written and one applied examinations at the end of semester. These examinations assess all aspects of the unit, using multiple choice, extended-matching, short answer and/or essay questions. Assignments: It is a requirement to submit all assignments as per the Unit Outline. Other Unit Requirements: Laboratory Safety Quiz, Personal and Professional Development Portfolio (PPD), Aboriginal Cultural Awareness and Safety Program, Case-Based Presentations, submission of compliance documents, and current first aid certificate are described in the unit outline. These requirements include minimum satisfactory standards for many of the required items. The mark and grade for year 1 (CAM101 and CAM102 combined), derived from a weighted total of all examinations, essays and assignments, will be released at the end of semester two. In order to pass CAM101/102, a student must pass the weighted total of all examinations (mid-semester and end of semester) across the year, pass the weighted total of essays and assignments across the year and complete all other unit requirements satisfactorily. Complete and pass Blended Mental Health First Aid for Tertiary Students course. (Complete online modules, attend and participate in face-to-face workshop, and pass MHFA online assessment. Upload certificate of completion to MyLO.) |
