Introduction

This unit will provide an introduction to research methodology, including the planning, design and conduct of a research project with relevance to medical research, presentation and analysis of data. Students will need to complete ‘Medical Research Project A’ and the subsequent ‘Medical Research Project B’ unit to complete their Research Project in the Master of Medical Research course.

Written Assignment, literature review (2500 words, 10%); Written Assignment, Research proposal (1500 words, 10%); Research proposal presentation (20 minutes, 10%); Written Assignment, Research thesis manuscript (6000 words, 50%), Research presentation (30 minutes, 20%).

The result for this unit will be IC (interim completion) with the final result awarded after completion of the subsequent unit ‘Medical Research Thesis B’.
