Introduction
Injury Management and Prevention will be studied from anatomical, biomechanical and patho-physiological perspectives, building on knowledge from previous units, including kinesiology. The emphasis is on understanding the mechanisms, prevention and immediate management of injury in different populations and environments. The theoretical knowledge will be integrated with a variety of practical aspects including accurate identification of important anatomical landmarks, application of modalities such as ice, bandaging, taping and therapeutic massage. The role of therapeutic exercise in musculoskeletal injuries and post-surgery will also be included.
