Introduction
This unit is designed to meet the new ESSA accreditation criteria in Exercise Physiology in the Exercise for Health and Wellness domain. Students can design and implements safe and effective health and wellness interventions to effect behaviour change and increase physical activity and functional capacity through the range of Accredited Exercise Physiologist target pathologies across diverse contexts and settings.

Learning Outcomes
- Design and deliver safe, evidenced-based, assessment and exercise plans that consider available scientific evidence, client treatment goals, medical history, clinical status, screening and other influencing factors (e.g. individual and sociocultural/economic factors).
- Formulate strategies to optimise client health behaviours and management.
- Relay a range of health-related information to clients considering clinical status and other influencing factors for client comprehension, and revise communication to respond to stakeholder needs and to manage changes in clinical situation(s).
- Identify and respond to changes in clinical status including adverse signs/symptoms and formulate appropriate clinical responses that include session modification or termination, first-aid and onward referral.
- Participate in multi-disciplinary care with clients through understanding of scope of practice and effective communication with other health professionals involved in client treatment.
