Introduction

This unit aims to continue the introduction of design, and will cover professional engineering skills of communication (written, oral, visual and technical), teamwork, project management, sustainability, ethics and creativity and innovation. This unit will further enhance design in the context of engineering career path and will build their skill set towards being an innovative engineer with skills in both openā€ended problems and solution focused outcomes.

1. Solve design problems in a materials context through applying relevant underpinning knowledge and skills.

2. Plan and design a solution to an engineering design problem, while justifying your design in terms of these factors and standard engineering principles and practices.

3. Function as an effective team member using simple project management tools.
