Introduction

On completion of this unit students will be able to:

  • apply the principles of risk management in the context of maritime management and administration;
  • identify key risks for maritime and related organisations;
  • analyse the effectiveness of risk management strategies;
  • analyse the incidence of maritime crisis situations, their causes and the responses of key players involved;
  • analyse the effectiveness and long-term impact of decisions made in crisis situations;
  • evaluate legislative changes that result from maritime crises and the implementation of such.
